This is its most successful charity partnership to date. The original target for the partnership, which ran between January and July this year, was £150,000.  But staff and customers at its 240 restaurants quickly passed this sum.Fundraising activities served upThe fundraising events began in January with some charity breakfasts at which diners donated money to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research instead of paying for their breakfast.A “kids eat free” weekend took place in March, as well as a pizza-creating competition. Here the winning pizza was sold in Frankie & Benny’s restaurants, and £1 was given to the charity for each pizza ordered.Danny Breithaupt, the incoming CEO of The Restaurant Group (TRG), showed his support by completing Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research’s London to Paris cycle challenge. On handing over the company donation, Breithaupt said:“As the incoming CEO I could not be more proud of what has been achieved. The guest feedback has been fantastic and it is clear that this incredible cause really struck a chord with our guests. During the six month fundraising initiative we have raised more money than ever before and I am delighted to be handing over such a big cheque which I know will help save lives”.
